123 Luv - able + Hug - able
For the second year in a row, gallery hanahou is pleased to present Luv-able and Hug-able, the infectiously affectionate plush show. This year, the gallery is adding luv-able plushes by many new artists, including eight specially introduced by Plush You, the annual plush show in Seattle hosted by Schmancy. Like last year, gallery hanahou is also presenting plushes by a selection of Japanese artists whose work is rarely seen outside of Japan. In addition, plushes by many of last year’s popular participants are coming back: one-of-a-kind work by Christina Gordon of JamFancy, Heidi Kenney of My Paper Crane, Anna Chambers, Blythe Church, and many more. The event takes place from December 4th through January 7th, with an opening party on December 4th from 6PM until 9PM.
There will also be a Plush Workshop with Jenny Harada on December 13th from 1PM until 4PM. For $20 (includes materials) you'll be able to make an ornament-size plush with plush artist Jenny Harada.Yazıyı aynen plasticandplush'dan aldım. Bu aralar NY'a gidecek bikaç arkadaşım var. Gidin gidin.

009 Dana Schutz
For young New York artist Dana Schutz, painting is a necessity of her imagination. Working within strict self-imposed codes of representation, Schutz develops elaborate fantasy worlds, fictions which can only exist in paint.

Dana Schutz, "Face Eater", 2004, Oil on Canvas, 46 x 58cm
From a series of paintings of auto-cannibals, Face Eater is funny and bizarre. The dark background pushes the full horror of the subject to intimate proximity: a zoom lens view of the slimy suggestion of a tongue lathering up the last of his own eyeballs. A parable of confrontation and discomfort, Schutz invents a race that would rather swallow itself rather than cope with its own inadequacy.

Dana Schultz, "How we would give birth", Oil on canvas, 60 x 72 inches
